Great ways to stay ahead of year-end

Year-end is a year-round endeavor at Ceridian. We strive to help you implement necessary compliance changes. We provide training tools and resources to help you to stay compliant as you complete year-end tasks. Use these tips to get a quick start on year-end.

  • Review your 2019 and 2020 Pay Calendars and Add Your 2020 Holidays.
  • Pay Calendars in Dayforce are auto-generated each pay cycle on a rolling basis. Schedules must be reviewed and edited to ensure dates are correct for Banking Holidays.
  • Although Dayforce automatically generates pay periods on a rolling basis, the application does not automatically generate client specific holidays used in the WFM timesheets for the upcoming year. Follow the steps in the Defining Holiday and Holiday Groups Job Aid to update your upcoming holidays.
  • 2020 Annual Schedule at a Glance Canada is available in the Ceridian Support Portal at support.ceridian.com. Choose the Knowledge Base menu at the top of the Home page. Select Year End > Canada Year End > Canadian Year End Guides and Schedules > Annual Schedule at a Glance 2020-CANADA.
  • Defining Holiday and Holiday Groups Job Aid can also be found in the Ceridian Support Portal. Go to support.ceridian.com and choose the Knowledge Base menu at the top of the Home page. Select Year End > Canada Year End.
  • Reconcile, Reconcile, Reconcile
  • Reconcile CPP/QPP and EI/QPIP Deficiency Reports
  • To avoid PIER (Pensionable and Insurable Earnings Review) Reports, review CPP/QPP and EI/QPIP Deficiency Reports for discrepancies. Make correcting adjustments for any discrepancy identified on the reports.

Identify year-end cases in the Ceridian Support Portal

Remember to categorize your year-end tickets by selecting Category > Year End (CAD) when you Submit your Case on the Portal.

Categorizing your tickets will help us resolve year-end issues more efficiently.
