September 2021 | A newsletter for the HR/payroll professional
As your Service/Support partner, we look for opportunities to promote a smooth transition and optimize efficiencies throughout the year. There are multiple ways Ceridian engages you throughout the year to ensure a successful year-end.
We encourage you to:
Errors in Year End will prevent print or file of tax slips. These are similar to errors in payroll. Best practice is to access Year End year-round to audit tax slips and check for errors after each pay commit.
Navigate to Year End > Canada Year End > Export Problems > All. An Excel spreadsheet will open that lists all Errors and Warnings. Errors must be resolved before print or filing of tax slips.
Find articles about resolving year-end errors on the Ceridian Support Portal by navigating to Year End > Canada Year End > Related Categories > Year End Errors.
Can you believe it is Fall? Be prepared for year-end by auditing, reporting, and recording employee earnings appropriately on the tax slips. In addition to auditing tax slips after every pay, use the 2021 Dayforce Year End Checklist to guide and prepare you for year end 2021
Find the Dayforce 2021 Year End Checklist on the Ceridian Support Portal by navigating to Year End > Canada Year End > 2021 Dayforce Year End Checklist (CAN).
Dayforce Education is getting ready for year-end. The following courses will be available for registered Dayforce Live members to enroll in instructor-led virtual sessions starting October 4, in the Ceridian Education Center. Recorded videos of the sessions will also be available.
Registered Dayforce Live customers will receive an email on October 1, with detailed learning tracks, steps on how to enroll in the instructor-led virtual sessions and launch dates for recorded videos.
Categorizing your cases will help us resolve year-end issues more efficiently.
Remember to categorize your year-end cases by selecting Category> Year End (CAD) when you submit your case on the Support Portal.
Earnings and Deductions are the key elements for pay statements and tax slips. It is critical that to verify that earnings and deductions display correctly on these slips. You can do this by auditing the Canada Earning and Deduction Matrix Validation Report and using the Tax Slip Preview on the Year End tab. For additional information on the Ceridian Support Portal, navigate to Knowledge Base > Year End > Canada Year End > Year End Reports (Can). Changes to earnings or deductions configuration can be made by submitting a case in the Ceridian Support Portal or by contacting your Support Team at (855) 432-9367.
