Dayforce Release 61 is coming soon

We are pleased to announce Dayforce Release 61 will be available for upgrades starting in September 2021.

What's in Release 61?

Detailed below is a high-level list of features & enhancements coming with Release 61 followed by the registration details for the webinars. Be sure to check out the release notes for full details of these changes.

Benefits

Benefit Tiers

Provides Benefit Administrators the ability to associate a Tier level to their Health and Life & Disability benefit plan options based on who can be covered by the option.

Benefits Intelligence Pre-processing job within relevant screens

Provides users the ability to execute the Benefits Intelligence Pre-processing background within the Benefit Decision Support and Benefit Intelligence screens. This is typically where changes may have occurred that would require the job to be run in order to update the data used in the Benefit Intelligence results.

Compensation

Flat amount bonus plans:

  • Flat amount bonus plans can be configured and administered to support flat amount bonus payouts for eligible employees.
  • This feature allows organizations to award flat bonus amounts to employees using Dayforce Compensation.

Core Technology

Person Data Management Usability Enhancements

Increase the visibility of approval progress in the current Person Data Management cycle by providing an Overview tab with visuals representing important aspects of the process and links allowing the user to drill deeper into those specific areas.

Increase the flexibility of Person Data Management policies by removing the validations on the default European Union policies that restricted changes to a one-year period. Going forward, ALL policies will allow client administrators to configure a value between 1 and 99 years, with the HR policy required to have the longest retention period (to avoid data reference issues in other modules).

Dayforce Tax Engine

U.S. and Canada – Tax Definition Screen available in the Audit screen in People

Administrators how have the ability to select the sections of the Tax Definition screen as part of the Audit feature in People. This will give administrators visibility as to when data on the records were added, changed or deleted.

Canada – FTQ/Fondaction max limits and Q/Q1/LCF amounts added to the Tax Calculation Details (TCD) Report

To assist in researching/triaging the max limits for FTQ/Fondaction and Q/Q1/LCF amounts are now included as part of the Tax Calculation Details (TCD) report.

U.S. – Tax Calculation Details (TCD) Report updated to show all additional tax amounts applied when the employee also has an Additional Tax Rate specified

Tax Calculation Details (TCD) Report updated to show all additional tax amounts applied when the employee also has an Additional Tax Rate specified.

All Countries – Favorites and View functionality added to the Garnishment screen

Administrators now have access to the View and Favorites features on the Garnishment screen.

U.S. and Canada – Expanded list of fields available for the garnishment view

Administrators in the US and Canada now have a variety of fields to select from for their garnishment view/grid on the garnishment screen.

U.S. – Improved display of parameters for Federal Tax Levy and AZ and MI State Tax Levies

The display order of the parameters for Federal Tax Levies and AZ and MI State Tax Levies have change to a more logic flow to make entries and updates easier for administrators.

U.S. – PSD codes from manually added Resident Taxes in PA will display on Contact Information screen

To help eliminate confusion for Administrators, the PSD code associated with a manually added resident tax will now appear on the contact screen instead of the PSD code from the original tax located.

All Counties – Warning message when navigating away from Tax Definition and Garnishment screens with unsaved data

Administrators will now receive warning messages when they attempt to navigate away from the Tax Definition and Garnishment screens with unsaved data.  

U.S. – Display Enhanced for NY and CA creditor garnishments and NY state tax levies

The label on the screen has been changed from "Local Minimum Wage" to "Local/Alternate Min Wage" to help eliminate confusion. And to provide administrators with more information a new field will now display the state default minimum wage.

Canada – The Lump Sum tax logic has been enhanced to include Estimated Lump Sum for Federal and Quebec Provincial taxes

A new field is now available to be entered to provide the Estimated Lump Sum amount to be paid for the year and this will be considered in the formula calculating Lump Sum taxes.

Human Resources

Position Management

Position management allows customers to model, manage, and align their people to obtain correct, historical, and real-time views of talent and the overall organizational structure. This can help leaders plan for future talent needs, find current talent gaps, and budget effectively to meet business needs. The feature is available to charter clients only as of Release 61. Come and join the webinar to learn more about position management and how you could register and qualify for the charter program.

Renaming Position to Job Assignment

To remove any confusion between a position representing a job within a department and a position representing a seat in the organization, the current ‘position’ field in use today will be renamed to Job Assignment.

Horizontal Navigation Support in Employee Profile

To enable larger screen layouts in profile features, we are introducing a horizontal navigation layout which would support both a grouped and ungrouped mode. Users will be able to set their preference between the new horizontal layout and the current vertical navigation in profile.

Support for employee earnings data capture in forms

This feature offers the ability to reference employee earnings on custom XML forms. It would enable administrators support use-cases - like capturing employee elections to schemes (pension, medical, gym membership, charitable scheme contribution, etc ), where there is an employee deduction and a matching employer contribution.

Learning

Team Learning Activity Dashboard UI Enhancements:

The different statuses displayed on the dashboard has been enhanced with the use of colours to make it easier for the Users to read the dashboard and locate the information that they are looking for.

Team Learning Activity Dashboard – Send default notifications:

The 'Send notification' will allow the managers to send pre-defined messages to their team members with regards to their learning journey and hence effectively communicate with their direct and indirect reports.

Mobile

Dayforce Wallet Direct Deposit Deep Link 

Dayforce Wallet users will now be able to easily and efficiently update their direct deposit information from Dayforce Mobile via a deep link between apps. With one tap, users will seamlessly maneuver from Dayforce Wallet into Dayforce Mobile to update their direct deposit details to include their Dayforce Wallet card. 

Norwegian Locale Support

In an effort to ensure that all individuals can access and use Dayforce Mobile, the app now supports the Norwegian locale. Users with a preference for this language will now enjoy a fully localized Norwegian Dayforce Mobile experience.

Onboarding

Effective End-Dates Added to Onboarding Policies with New Toggle Filter View

Onboarding administrators will have the ability to add effective end-dates to onboarding policies with a new toggle filter view on the Onboarding Policies page to filter the view by Active, Inactive, or All.  

New Configurable UI Display Options for the Meet Your Team Section 

Customers now have the ability to configure the Meet Your Team sub-section labels, select team members to be included in each sub-section, as well as determine the order in which they display.

New Configurable UI Display Options for Onboarding Employee Cards 

Customers now have the ability to select what information will or will not display on the onboarding employee cards.

Ability to Delete an Onboarding Policy from an Employee Record

Customers have the ability to delete an onboarding policy that may have been incorrectly assigned to an employee.

Onboarding Tokens Added to First Time Access Email Subject Line

Customers have the ability to add onboarding tokens to the first time access email template subject line to further personalize them.

Payroll – Europe

Quick Entry Add Employment Status as an option it the Filter pane
To improve the experience of the Payroll Admin while working in Quick Entry, the ability to filter based on employee employment status is now available.

Earnings: Ability to load balances to Salary Sacrifice earnings
Users will be able to load balances to salary sacrifice earnings.

IRL – Provide additional system defined Tax & Compliance settings
New system defined Tax and Compliance setting for use by UK clients.

IRL – Ability to submit a revised ROS return
Enhanced functionality to allow users to amend and resend payroll data to Irish Revenue.

IRL – Earning Statement: Show employee National ID on earning statement
This will give a customer the ability to choose if they wish to display the employee national ID on the earning statement.

IRL – Earning Statement: Show employer taxes on earnings statement
We are providing IRL customers the same ability that UK customers have by showing the employer taxes on the employee pay slip.

IRL – Pay Statement: Show reducing balance for a deduction
Providing the ability to show employee reducing balance on the payslip.

IRL – Revenue Submission: Report normal pay date due to bank holiday 
Ability to hold and report employee normal pay date when paid early due to bank holiday.

UK – Automatically create P45 for Terminated Employees
Automatically generate UK P45's for Leavers in Dayforce.

UK – Display PAYE/NI Calculation Details 
A new screen will be available to enable the Pay Admin to quickly view NI Balances for each of the thresholds to enable quick verification in the case of manual changes required.

UK – Pennies from Heaven scheme 
Creating a special UK Payroll Policy that allows the calculation to review net pay, round down to nearest pound and donate those pennies to a charity in the UK called Pennies from Heaven.

UK – Provide a report to show Tax Code, NI and Student Loan details 
Employee Tax Detail report for UK and IRL.

UK – RTI ability to process reversals/adjustments and report to HMRC
Allows UK payroll to adjust payroll data and remit corrections to HMRC.

UK – Provide ability to advance pay periods - WFM
Ability for Dayforce to calculate PAYE / NI for Advance Holiday pay from WFM.

UK – Add alerts to upcoming and overdue third-party payments (UK Payroll and HMRC payments)
Ability to configure alerts to ensure that any 3rd Party Payments are made within deadlines.

UK – Allow arrears option to show for child maintenance orders on employee record
This feature adds additional details to the employee record.

Payroll – North America

CAN – ROE Automation Upon Termination
This feature will allow users to specify a termination reason to ROE reason mapping and have the system auto generate ROEs via a background task making the off boarding process more efficient for Payroll Admins.

CAN – ROE Notification Setup
Provide ability for Payroll admins to receive notifications when an ROE is generated for an employee so that it is easier to determine which employees need an ROE to be generated.

CAN – Warning for City Entered with more than 28 Characters
Validation has been added to Dayforce for any Canadian city with more than 28 characters to instead use an abbreviation.  This is a requirement to ensure that RL1 tax form generation will pass Schema validation without throwing an error at Year End.

Payroll – North America

CAN – Added New Bank Holiday for September 30
Dayforce has been updated to add September 30 as a new bank holiday so that employees' pay is processed without any delay.

U.S. – Form 1099R Box 9B
This will add the ability for a Payroll Admin to map an earning code to Box 9B for Form 1099R on the Tax and Compliance panel within the earning definition without having to handle this manually. 

U.S. – Require a default Customer Funding Identifier
To avoid failures while processing background jobs due to TSID's not being assigned during pay run history imports, Dayforce now enforces a default funding identifier to be defined while configuring a United States legal entity.

U.S. – FLSA Date Range in Overtime Adjustments
This feature will adjust the FLSA calculation for non-weekly pay frequencies and make the FLSA bonus overtime adjustment calculate without manual adjustments needed.

General Ledger Entitlements – Add Entitlements Auditing
This report exposes the Entitlement balance from the commit of the prior pay run for comparison with the balance of the current pay run to identify the source of the delta amounts posted to GL.

Expose Employee GL Splits for Reporting
This feature exposed the Employee GL Split configuration data in the reporting feature so users can report on it without needing a custom report.

Duplicate Legal Entity Name in Different Countries
Payroll Admins with international businesses can enter the same legal entity name in different countries so that the accurate name is recorded across countries without encountering a validation error.

Run Recalc for Subset of Employees
Payroll Admins can partially recalculate a pay run so that they do not have to wait to execute this job on their entire pay run.  This will save time and allow the Admins to be more efficient when preparing their pay runs.

Payroll Elections Audit Trail
The Payroll > Payroll Elections screen of the People feature has been updated to allow administrators the ability to view an audit trail of changes made to an employee's payroll election information.

Quick Entry Filter Updates

  • To improve the experience of the Payroll Admin while working in Quick Entry, the ability to filter based on employee employment status is now available.
  • To improve the experience of the Payroll Admin while working in Quick Entry, you can now apply filter criteria to view a subset of entries without having to first save pending changes.

Performance

Relaxing edit rights on the performance reviews: 

We have added this ability for the performance reviews to be edited even after they are published and are available to the employees to work on. The review configuration gets locked once at least one or more employee reviews are submitted both by the employees themselves as well as their managers. 

Administrators will now be able to make any changes that may be needed to the review form or the schedule at any time before the employee reviews start to get locked.

Recruiting

XML job requisition form supported form Job Requisition Additional Fields

Job Requisition Additional Fields can now be configured to add to customized Job Requisition forms.

Support for multiple conversion tags for client career sites

Enhanced Candidate Conversion Tracking for client career site to allow for adding multiple Start and Finish tags.

Virtual Employee setting on Recruiting Hire forms

Candidate Hire and Internal Candidate Hire form enhanced to set a candidate as virtual. Once the form is processed the employee’s new work assignment record is updated as virtual.

Apply to Jobs from Careers via Employee Talent Profile

Internal candidates can use the Employee Talent Profile to apply to internal jobs. 

Candidate Management – Candidate Matching

Enhanced Candidate Management to include Candidate Matching.  With Candidate Matching you can search for candidates that are a good fit to a Job Requisition or select a candidate and find other candidates that have a similar match to their profile. 

Renaming fields named Position in Recruiting to Job Assignment

In support of Position Management fields labeled as Position across the Recruiting feature are renamed to Job Assignment.

Reporting & Analytics

Ability to change report security for Payroll and HR reports:

This feature provides the ability to modify security for specific ad hoc reports so that the reports can be shared with a wider audience without causing integrity issues.

  • Payroll reports - Security can be changed from Pay Group to Employee or Location
  • HR Reports - Security can be changed to include Indirect employees

Delete button on the Reporting Landing page:

This feature provides the ability to delete the report on the Reporting Landing page  without having to call support to cleanup corrupt reports

Succession Planning

Employee Career Profile:

The career profile feature provides employees with the opportunity to highlight
their experience and achievements:

  • Employees have control over this information and can add and update sections at any time.
  • Employees can tailor content from their career profile to apply for internal positions.
  • Recruiters can view career profile information in Recruiting and can search for internal candidates based on the included information.
  • The career profile feature also provides managers with the opportunity to review the employees information and make necessary recommendations.

Workforce Management

Enhancements to Vacation Bidding:

  • Ability to filter by Vacation Bidding Group from People screen.
  • Ability to filter by Vacation bidding sessions by Session Type and Auto-Approve.
  • Ability to apply bid requests from Bidding Calendar.
  • Ability to remove bid requests from Bidding Calendar.
  • Ability to export bidding slots for Sequential bidding sessions.
  • Ability to automatically end date vacation bidding group when terminating an employee.

Ability to map earnings from Payroll to WFM:

Any payroll-generated earnings for committed periods, such as vacation pay percentage paid out each pay to employees, will be captured and factored into average rate calculation for holiday pay etc.

Period Review Enhancements:

In Period review now Managers can filter Direct vs All employees and also see the exceptions which each employee is part of.
