Dayforce Release 60 is coming soon

We are pleased to announce Dayforce Release 60 will be available March 2, 2021 with client upgrades starting April 15, 2021.

Key dates

  • DRAFT release notes posted to the Support Portal: March 3, 2021
  • Release 60 webinars: March 15 to March 26, 2021

Whats in Release 60?

Detailed below is a high-level list of features and enhancements coming with Release 60 followed by the registration details for the webinars. Be sure to check out the release notes for full details of these changes.


Enhancements to features

Benefits

Re-enroll employee in benefits when rehired within client defined period

Provides Benefit Administrators with the ability to determine a period of time after termination in which an employee can be re-hired and they are automatically re-enrolled in their previous benefit elections if eligible. In addition, Benefit Administrators will have the ability to define which benefit options should have re-enrollment applied. When an employee is rehired within the defined period, they will be re-enrolled in their previous benefit elections and they will receive a notification informing them of the re-enrollment.

Proactive alerts around dependents aging out

Provides Benefit Administrators the ability to send proactive notifications to employees in order to inform them that their dependent will be aging out of their benefits plan coverage. 

UK – Pension – Allow the import of ongoing UK Pension event records using .CSV file format

Since most vendors send .CSV files to import Employee UK Pension Information, we now will support the importing of a .CSV UK Pension Ongoing Import file so that it does not require any conversion prior to importing

Compensation Management

Enhanced eligibility criteria configuration for compensation cycles

Users can now create multiple criteria sets. Employees are included in the cycle organization if they meet the criteria specified in at least one set.

Dayforce Tax Engine

Active/All Filters added to Tax Definitions > Employee Payroll Tax

The Active/All filter buttons will now be available on the Employee Payroll Tax portion of the Tax Definitions screen. This will enable customers to not only see all tax authorities that have been assigned to the employee, but to select to see only those currently active.  

Tax Crediting Details added to the Tax Calculation Details (TCD) Report

Many state and local taxes allow for crediting when an employee is being taxed in more than 1 state and/or local tax jurisdiction. These credits will now be visible on the Tax Calculation Details report to make it easier to determine if crediting is being applied and if so, the amount of the credit.

Improved Descriptions for Additional Standard Deduction Parameters for Federal Tax Levy and AZ and MI State Tax Levies

The descriptions in the Additional Standard Deduction Parameters drop down have been improved to more closely match the options on the garnishment notice/order. This will make it easier to ensure the correct parameter is being selected, which impacts the garnishment withholding amount.

New Validation Error Messages added for Additional Standard Deduction Parameters for Federal Tax Levy and AZ and MI State Tax Levies

New validation error messages have been added to help ensure that the Additional Standard Deduction selected for Federal Tax Levies and AZ and MI State Tax Levies are correct based on the Filing status selected. This will help to ensure that the garnishment amount is calculated correctly. The validation will be enforced when the garnishment record is being saved.

Some portions of the Garnishment screen is now available in the Audit screen in People

Administrators now have the ability to select portions of the Garnishment screen as part of the Audit function in People. This will give the administrators visibility as to when data on the records were added, changed and deleted, etc. With this release the portions that will be available are the General Details, Order Details and Payee Details from the Garnishment Properties tab along with the Arrears and Fees tabs.

Engagement

Custom Answer Types 

Question library feature is renamed to Question Setup. Survey Admins will now be able to create new custom answer type options and associate to a question in question library or with in a survey. It will facilitate our admins to ask survey questions with appropriate answer options and remove the dependency to use fixed system 5 point scale.

Post Publish Administration 

Engagement Administrators will now be able to update organization structure to add any missing employees while survey is running or update org roll structure and any comparison data post publish even in closed state.

Compare historic survey results

HR leader/Manager user looking at survey results should be able to select from list of previous surveys to compare their team's results.

Engagement Reporting

Added two new reports:

1) Org roll up report for survey admin to report on Org roll up to make sure org structure is configured accurately for survey.

2) Participation Rate report for engagement admins to report and generate participation rate for all leaders in one view quickly.

3) Clients will be able to create other reports as well from report builder as required.

Human Resources

Ability to route workflow approvals to a manager outside the current employee hierarchy

With this feature, approvals can go to managers that are outside of the current hierarchy of an employee. Examples are sending an approval request to the manager-to-be of a newly hired employee in the new hire form, or sending an approval request to a manager-to-be of an employee that was transferred to another location or is changing position

Additional fields on Employment Status record

Employment status records will now include the following read-only attributes to better help review a complete history of an employee on one place: Manager, Department, Job, Primary Location, Pay Grade, Compa Ratio, Bonus Grade.

Employee Data Mapping – Retain existing data for Employee Properties

Employee Data Mapping rules will now have an additional configuration for employee property mapping values to retain existing data. This will allow managers to make updates to employee properties on employee records without having mapping rules revert their changes back to mapping rule values. This is useful for cases where mapping rules are needed to setup initial values for employee properties to use as a training checklist, and managers need to update those values once training is completed without having mapping rules revert their changes.

Learning

Pervasive Learning extension:

The Pervasive Learning Feature has been extended to the Performance and Succession pages allowing users to continue learning while working on these pages.

Session Enrollment alert:

The session enrollment alert allows a learner to be notified when the learner is enrolled in a course session thus ensuring a better management of training activities.

Deeplink enhancements:

The deeplinks available on the alerts received via email or the message center allows the Learner to view the course through the Slim player without navigating to the learning page to access the course

Manager Self Service – Viewing of skills, certifications, indirect reports:

The Team Learning Activity dashboard now allows a manager to review his team's progress with skills and certifications as well as viewing of his indirect reports in order to help his employees to complete their training activities on time and suggest new learning paths for his employees.

Courses & Learning Plans Report:

The Courses & Learning Plans Report allows an Admin the ability to run a report that lists all Learning plans along with the courses that are linked to these learning plans (metadata) that have been uploaded to learning.

Shareable Deeplink for Webinar and Classroom:

Shareable Deeplinks can now be generated for session based courses which can be sent to learners for registration instead of giving instructing learners to navigate to catalogs.

Add location as position qualifier for assigning skills:

Linking a position and location to skills allows the HR admin to select different skills for different locations as qualifiers for a position so that managers can schedule employee work assignments only if they possess the skills required for a position in a particular location without having to manually check skills required for position and location.

Mobile

Emergency Broadcast Messages

To facilitate timely and important employee communication, the mobile Messages feature now supports the reception, view, and organization of emergency broadcast messages. These messages will appear as a banner within the inbox and when dismissed, will be available for reference in a new "Notifications" folder.

Android Dark Theme

Dayforce mobile Android users can now enable Dark Theme on their device to experience an enhanced visual display across all Dayforce features. Dark Theme presents an accessible and user friendly color scheme to further align the appearance of Dayforce with many commonly used consumer mobile applications.

Onboarding

Onboarding Managers can mark Employee & Manager Checklist Tasks as Complete or Not Applicable and will be Identified as Last Modified

Onboarding Managers will have the ability to mark their onboarding employees' checklist tasks as Complete or Not Applicable and a "Last Modified By" and "Last Modified" column will display so it is clear who made the update.

New Instructions Section in Manager Checklist Tab of Onboarding Policy

Customers will have a "Description" text field available on the Manager Checklist Tab of an Onboarding Policy so additional instructions can be displayed to the manager.

Onboarding Manager Sub-Feature Access for Onboarding Forms, Employee Checklist & Manager Checklist

This feature offers a more granular level of feature access for the Onboarding Forms, Employee Tasklist, and Manager Tasklist tabs In Onboarding Employees.

Additional Filter Options on the Onboarding Employees Page

The following additional filters are now available on the Onboarding Employees page:

  • Manager
  • Work Location
  • Guide

Favorites Control added to the Onboarding Employees Page

Onboarding users can now create various favorite views and save them so they can be accessed quickly.

Access to Indirect Reports for Onboarding Managers 

Onboarding managers will have access to view their indirect reports in Onboarding so they have a better picture of who is being Onboarding in my organization.

Payroll – Asia Pacific

AUS – Quarterly Pay Frequency
Added a new pay frequency and related tax calculations for processing payroll quarterly.

AUS – Test STP File at Validation Stage
A preview of a report submitted to the tax office upon commit so that clients have an opportunity to see the file before it is sent.

AUS – Mass Update of Employer Superannuation Rate
Payroll Admins will have the ability to mass update the employer superannuation guarantee charge(SGC) rate with out having to update this rate for each employee.

AUS – Withholding Variation Enhancement
This feature will provide Payroll Admins with an ability to do an upward variation of percentage so that the correct employee taxes are deducted without having to do manual adjustments. This will also provide an option to override Dayforce rate with ATO advise rate.

NZ – Tax Changes for 2021 / 2022
Added tax and compliance changes to the NZ payroll for the year 2021-2022.

Payroll – Europe

UK – Ability to determine Statutory Sick Pay based on the Avg number of days an employee works in the week
Provide ability for clients to determine if SSP is calculated over 5 or 7 days.

UK – Start of Year Changes 2021 / 2022 Part 2
Statutory Changes made to Start of Year Process which runs automatically for UK Payroll.

UK – Occ Parental Pay v. Stat Parental Pay proration over periods
Adjustment to the Occupational Parental Pay Calculation .

WFM – Pay worked hours to leavers
Allows the processing of payments to previously terminated employees.

UK – Auto Update NI Category Letter when Employee reaches specific ages
Dayforce will automatically create a new Tax Definitions record for NI where an employee reaches a specific age to trigger a change to NI Category.

UK – HR Import: Automate a default change reason for NI Letter
This feature is for Dayforce to make the HR import of NI Letter a better process.

Tax Definition UI, validate tax code entries
This feature will provide on screen validation of employee tax code format for the UK.

Add Current Accruals and Balance Information to Earning Statement
Allows for the ability to see 'This Period' values used for calculations on the payslip.

SEPA File: Ability to produce file per bank specification
Feature will allow customers to add customer specific fields to the SEPA file.

IRL – Send amendment data to Irish Revenue
This feature will allow a user to amend employee data and resubmit the changes to Irish Revenue.

SEPA File: Produce SEPA file for each bank account within 1 Legal
This feature will allow our solution to define multiple customer account numbers in configuration that will support SEPA generation for these particular identifiers.

IRL – Alert when exceeding Pension limits
Allows a user to be notified if an employee has exceeded their pension limits.

IRL – Process a payment to a leaver after termination of employment
This feature will ensure the employer applies correct taxation to employees receiving a payment after leaving.

Customer Funding: Validation on UI for all EU Zone countries
Validate format of BIC & IBAN added to Dayforce to reduce the risk of incorrect account details being added.

Payroll – North America

Payroll Preview Employee update
To improve the audit process of Payroll Admins managing multiple locations within a pay group, the HTML version of Payroll Preview Employee has been updated to display totals at the Primary Department, Location and Legal Entity levels when preview groupings are applied.

Fixed Format Payroll Reports
To better support enterprise clients with large pay groups based on employee count, the generation of fixed format payroll reports has been optimized to produce outputs in a more timely manner.

Consolidate Payroll Post Commit Management Tabs
A new Post Commit Management tab has been added to the Payroll module which will group current Tax Month Management, Monthly Return Reconciliation, Post Commit Exports, Third Party Payments post commit features to better group similar functions and enhance usability for Payroll Admins.

Enforce Pay Group Approval Settings on Off-Cycles
Now when pay group approval settings are configured, they will cover all pay runs that generate payments to prevent exception violations.

Payroll Import Tool Publish Feature updates
Updates to the Publish Feature within the Payroll Import Tool allow for more flexibility when publishing transactions that are ready for processing. User can use selected or filter transactions only when using this feature.  

Direct Deposit Updates for Payroll Admins:
- Users will be able to add an effective from and/or end date on a direct deposit account row 
- Reporting will be update to account for the effective from and/or end date on the direct deposit

DF Link Payroll Export update
Added the ability to pull more job and position fields into DF Link PR Export files to align with vendor import requirements without having to manually update the file.

U.S. – Reimbursements and Net Wages on Earning Statement
Payroll Admins have the ability to itemize reimbursement/memo amounts from the Gross or Net amounts so that they can be reported as separate totals and display Net Wages information on U.S. Earning Statements, in compliance with California requirements.

U.S. – Employers Quarterly State Report of Wages Paid to Employees
This feature will allow the standard report Employers Quarterly State Report of Wages Paid to Employees to run with a .csv output option when the option to run a single state is selected so that Payroll Admins can sort, sum or use an input for updates to weeks worked or 12th of month count without manually submitting to CTS for updates.

U.S. – Instant Issue Dayforce Card
Added the ability for People Admin user to assign instant issue Dayforce card to employees as an alternative to a physical check.

U.S. – W-2C Print Reminder
A reminder has been added to the W-2C Commit Confirmation popup window, to alert Year End Admin users that they need to print the tax statements for their employees. 

CAN – Remove Obsolete Vendors from Canadian Trust Bulk Filing
An update has been made so that only active third party payees are available to be selected for Canadian Trust Bulk Filing so that an obsolete vendor is not inadvertently selected. 

CAN – Payroll Register by Pay Run Topic
Added the ability to pull the current remaining deduction balance in the Payroll Register by Pay Run topic so that Payroll Admins can report on remaining balances without having to find that information elsewhere.  

CAN – Self Manage Third Party Payee EFT Advice Statements
Payroll Admins can manage whether third party payee EFT advice statements are generated without having to contact support to allow for greater control of delivery package charges.

Performance

Ability to alter the content fields on the performance review cycle after it is published

Administrators can now edit the text fields ( like the name, description and instructions )on the review configuration screen anytime , even after the review is published  and has active employee reviews. 

Ability for the employees and managers to access historical ratings and comments from the review form

Both managers and employees will now be able to view the historical ratings and comments from the past reviews,  on the current  review form. This feature can be enabled by the administrators optionally.  

Pervasive learning on Performance screens

All clients using Dayforce learning can now setup pervasive learning experience on the performance Goals, competencies, Dev plans, Reviews and conversations screens. This feature helps organizations to publish training materials that can be accessed by the employees directly from the relevant screens. 

Recruiting

Only send external candidates for assessment

A new recruiting client property that controls whether internal candidate take or don't take assessments for the job they are applying to.

Candidate Hire Form updates

Updated candidate hire form for global flexibility to select pay group first to drive county code context for marital status options and confidential identification section that displays on the form

Indeed Integration – Enhanced to include a virtual location

Recruiting integration with Indeed now includes the ability to have jobs posted on Indeed with a virtual location.

Reporting and Analytics

New Notification when reports are killed via DBA’s Automation

This feature will send a custom message notification to users whenever a report is terminated by the database administrator' automation process because the report is taking too long to run and placing the server at risk.

Removes extra click to run report from feature screen

This feature eliminates the extra click users have to do when running an ad hoc report from the feature screen.

Workforce Management

UK – Calculate SSP on shift rotation pay policy

This requirement would allow the solution to correctly calculate UK SSP on shift rotation when an employer is not defined by set days of the week as the qualifier.

Clocks

  • Unread Message Notification
    • On DF Touch clocks, the number of unread messages is displayed after a successful punch.
  • Schedule Transfers
    • On all clocks, employees can select from all unworked scheduled transfers for the current shift.
  • Multiple Break Attestation
    • On DF Touch and HTML clocks, employees can enter they number of breaks they took, for that shift, so that they are properly compensated for missed breaks.
  • Punch Picture Support in Online Mode
    • On DF Touch clocks, punch picture functionality is supported in online mode.
