Dayforce Release 59 service pack 4 is coming soon

We are pleased to announce Dayforce Release 59 service pack 4 will be available January 27, 2021 (or later depending on your release cadence).

Key dates

  • Draft release notes will be available: January 20, 2021
  • Release 59 service pack 2 webinars: January 22, 2021 - January 25, 2021
  • Release notes/guides/documents posted to the Support Portal: January 25, 2021
  • Date test environment will be upgraded: January 27, 2021

What's in Release 59 service pack 4?

Detailed below is a high-level list of features and enhancements coming with Release 59 service pack 4 followed by the registration details for the webinars. Be sure to check out the release notes for full details of these changes.


Enhancements to features

Architecture

Added the ability for multi-instance clients to use the same web services authentication token across their instances

Dayforce Tax Engine

U.S. – Effective To date automatically added based on IRS guidelines when Exempt Tax Only, Update Wages is Selected for Federal Tax Info

To ensure that the experience for the admin in the application/UI is consistent with the employee experience in self-service, the Federal Tax Info portion of the Tax Definitions has been enhanced.

With this release, when Federal Tax Only, Update Wages is selected in the application/UI on Tax Definitions  > Federal Tax Info, the Effective To date will automatically be updated based on the IRS guidelines.

Note: The Federal W-4 form in self- service was enhanced in a previous release to automatically add the Effective To date in this situation.

Human Resources

UK – Leave Payment schedule

This feature has been introduced to provide visibility of future leave related payments for employees who are off for a prolonged period of time due to Maternity or Adoption leave in the UK.

Australia – WGEA Reporting
Introduction of configuration and a system report to support legislative Workplace Gender reporting. 

Workflows – Route to Future Manager functionality
With this feature, approvals can go to managers that are outside of the current hierarchy of an employee. Examples are sending an approval request to the manager-to-be of a newly hired employee in the new hire form, or sending an approval request to a manager-to-be of an employee that was transferred to another location or is changing position

People Role Security configuration updates

Additional features have been introduced to People Role Security configurations to allow roles to be configured with access to HTML Employee Profile features for the equivalents that were available for Silverlight My HR features.

Mobile

Break Attestation and Meal Waiving from the Mobile Clock

The Dayforce mobile Clock and Timesheet features now support the ability for employees to waive meals and attest to having taken breaks. This feature brings the mobile Clock experience more inline with the web application's HTML Clock and empowers employees with important time management functionality while on the go.

Dayforce Wallet Direct Deposit

Building upon the recent release of Direct Deposit form support in the Dayforce mobile application, eligible users are now able to quickly and efficiently select and save Dayforce Wallet as a direct deposit account.

Payroll – Asia Pacific

ANZ – Earning Statement Import
Customers will now have the ability to import earning statement history from a previous payroll system so that they can access the information directly from Dayforce.

AUS – Redundancy Payment Calculation
Dayforce was updated to now calculate genuine redundancy payments so that Payroll Admins do not have to handle this manually and redundancy payments are compliant with ATO.

AUS – Child Support Protected Earnings
Updated child support protected earnings for 2021 in accordance with the latest legislative changes.

Payroll – Europe

UK – PAYE: Apply appropriate taxation calculations for week 53, week 54 or week 56 payrolls

Enhance tax calculation to allow for years when there are additional tax weeks, which require different calculations method in final pay period.

FPS Report under Reporting

Ability to easily view FPS files in PDF format, as an archived report in CSV format.

Payroll – North America

HTML Redesign of Quick Entry, Checks and Adjustments screens
New redesigned version of the Quick Entry, Checks and Adjustments payroll screens aimed to improve the experience and efficiency of the payroll admin while viewing and creating entries.

U.S. – TurboTax banner on year-end forms
The TurboTax banner on the year-end forms have been updated with modern styling elements and adjust to the screen size when employees are accessing year-end forms from different devices.

U.S. – COVID-19 Relief Extension
This feature extends the end dates of the FFCRA and CARES special coded check templates, credit memo tax authorities, and pay sync credit calculator.

Performance

Auto Save for Performance Review

Auto save the review form feature can be turned on for the specific review cycles as preferred by the user. Once the toggle option is turned on, the review form autosaves every few seconds without the user worrying about losing any data due to not saving.

Visibility of the employee review draft to the manager

New configuration is added to the review setup screen where the administrator can setup if the employee review can be visible by the managers while it is still in a draft state.

Separate feature access for alignment on organizational goals

Additional feature access is added so the ability to align to the organizational goals can be controlled by the specific roles. When the feature is turned off, the user in the role will not be able to find an organizational goal in the list of the goals when on the align goal wizard.

Track goal actions performed by a delegate

Goal screens and the report show the name of the original manager when an action is performed by a delegate. Name of the delegate is stored in the DB as the last modified user for the event. Administrators can create organizational goals on behalf of the leaders and make the goals visible to the employees as created by their leaders.

Recruiting

Candidate portal cookies policy

To provide a better experience for the candidate, the candidate portal will now display a cookies banner to notify candidates of the Dayforce Recruiting cookies policy. Candidates will have the ability to accept cookies as well as manage preferences for which cookies they accept.

Sharing Talent Pools

To help recruiters be successful at their jobs Talent Pools can now be shared. Both existing and newly created talent pools can be shared with other users to provide better tools to collaboratively source candidates for jobs.

Dayforce Wallet

Verify and change mobile phone number

New functionality allows a Dayforce Wallet user to verify their mobile device number by registering their number and verifying with a one-time use code. The verification process also allows for the user to self-service update their mobile number associated with their Dayforce Wallet account.

Improved messaging and registration in Dayforce to drive Dayforce Wallet usage

Within Dayforce, users will see a visible banner, based on eligibility, for Dayforce Wallet. The banner allows users to learn more about Dayforce Wallet, if not registered already, and enter the registration process for a Dayforce Wallet account. If a user is already registered, there is additional information about the benefits of Dayforce Wallet and an easy way to setup direct deposit to Dayforce Wallet.

Payroll Admin Dayforce Wallet card disbursement

This feature allows for a payroll administrator to disburse and instant issue Dayforce Card and associate the card to the employee without needing to load funds to the card initially. This also includes the setup of the employee's direct deposit being allocated to Dayforce Wallet, if elected.

Workforce Management

WFM – Amount Qualifier

Ability to qualify employee by evaluating amounts earned. The new Amount Qualifier will provide ability to qualify employees based on the commissions or pay summaries earned within the look back period.

AU – GRIA Pay Compliance

Ability to calculate OT for not providing two consecutive days off each week or three consecutive days off in a fortnight.
